The life of Emily M Weddall

This blog is about a little known historical figure Emily M. Weddall (1867 -1952). She became involved in the Celtic Revival and joined the Gaelic League, promoting the Irish language. She was an original founding member of Ireland's oldest Irish language summer school, Scoil Acla. A Nationalist, and member of Cumann na mBan, took part of the Revolution and War of Independence and was imprisoned for her involvement. She is buried close to the Republican Plot in Glasnevin Cemetery.

Adjustments
